DAO Group Major Accomplishments
Wise Foods, Inc. - In only 3 months DAO Group rolled-out DosSnak and 600 handheld computers to ensure Wise Foods, Inc. Y2K compliance.
Schwebel Baking Company – DAO took control of maintenance and enhancements of SBC’s custom mobile application in 2008 and, after converting the original PL/N source code to Visual Basic, added signature capture, wireless printing, WiFi communications, document imaging, etc. SBC has deployed the new application and hardware to about 70% if its locations. Meanwhile, DAO is developing a custom Truck Inspection/Survey Application using .NET to augment the mobile application. When deployment is complete, we will be supporting 300 routes on this software.
Binzagr Company – Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this company provides DSD delivery of products throughout the Kingdom. DAO took control of maintenance and enhancements of this custom application in 2003 and, after converting it to the Visual Basic language, performed two rounds of major enhancements and performance improvements. This unique application has dual-display and print options of English and Arabic, and is currently deployed on over 900 routes.
Herr Foods – DAO took control of maintenance and enhancements of Herr’s custom mobile application in 1988. We have taken this client from burning programs onto chips to converting the original PL/N source code to Visual Basic. We have added signature capture, wireless printing, WiFi communications, cellular communications , document imaging, and SBT. Herr’s has completed the full deployment of the new application and hardware to all company and I/O routes. We are supporting 750 routes on this software.
UTZ Quality Foods – DAO took control of maintenance and enhancements of UTZ’s custom mobile application in April of 2008 and, after converting the original PL/N source code to Visual Basic, wireless printing, WiFi communications, and GPS enhancements have been implemented. UTZ is currently piloting the new application in two of their sales distribution centers in Chesapeake and Newport News, VA. The remainder of their 850 routes will be deployed over the next 4-6 months. Future enhancements scheduled for this application include SBT, signature capture, invoice imaging, and cellular communications.
Swire Coca-Cola (Utah) and Coca-Cola Bottling Company United – Custom mobile computer application developed by Intermec exclusively for Coca-Cola Enterprises and all worldwide Coca-Cola distributors, independent and company owned. DAO took control of maintenance and enhancements for the 140,000 lines of code in this application, and within months added signature capture, wireless printing, WiFi and cellular communications, document imaging (allowing reprints on the HHC including signatures, as well as TIFF imaging on the host with the same signatures), and a number of business process enhancements and performance optimizations. DAO is enjoying our 4th year with these valuable customers and continues to enhance the functionality of their mobile application and host processes to support it. Most recently, we deployed a major Warehouse Management System project enhancement that ties in with their SAP WMS host system. Total routes: 1350
